B. C. A. (Bachelor of Computer Applications) (Offered at Amritapuri Campus)

Bachelor of Computer Applications (B. C. A.) is an undergraduate Programme to start career in computer science. It provides sound academic base from which an advanced career in computer applications including the latest developments keeping pace with the industry can be developed.

The Programme also carries out the required analysis and synthesis involved in computer systems, information systems and computer applications.

B. Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) in Mechanical Engineering

The department of Mechanical Engineering was started in the year 1994. The department offers B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering. At present the department intake capacity is 180 students per year in the B.Tech level. The department has competent and committed faculty members drawn from industry, practicing professionals and academicians to enhance the delivery of academic programs.

The department has evolved a comprehensive student-centric learning approach, designed to add significant value to the learner's understanding in an integrated manner through workshops, lab sessions, assignments, training, seminars, projects and independent study. The hands-on training offered our CAD/CAM training in latest design software brings in a formal method of familiarizing with the industrial practices helps the students to apply their class room knowledge to live industrial situations. 

B. Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) in Electronics and Communication Engineering

B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering is a four year professional undergraduate program offered by Amrita School of Engineering. Electronic and communication engineering is concerned with applying knowledge in electronics to facilitate communication and solve engineering problems. The curriculum is organized such that it enables students to get a strong foundation on various aspects of electronics and communication engineering such as digital systems design, electromagnetic theory, digital signal processing, microprocessors and microcontrollers, electronic circuits, VLSI design, digital communication, analog communication, control engineering, and microwave engineering. While building a solid foundation of the fundamentals, the students are also exposed to emerging trends in the industry and are molded to be quality professionals of the future. The students are also provided an opportunity to choose specialization electives to focus on their identified areas of interest such as embedded systems, wireless communication, satellite communication, biomedical signal processing, VLSI fabrication technology, speech processing, and optical communication.

Classes are also delivered by experts from various partner universities around the world through the e-learning network as well as in the form of workshops and seminars. The students are encouraged to undertake real-time projects and actively participate in worldwide technical conferences and workshops and present their work in many of them. 

B. Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

B. Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a four year professional undergraduate program offered by Amrita School of Engineering. Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. The course is designed in such a way so as to provide excellent technical knowledge in the emerging areas of electrical engineering. Basic electrical engineering, electric circuit theory, power electronics, theory and performance of electrical machines, energy systems, control systems, electrical measurements and instrumentation etc. are offered as core subjects. During higher semesters elective courses on specialized fields such as digital signal processing, artificial intelligence, facts, high voltage engineering, biomedical engineering, etc. are offered. The curriculum is also framed as to make the students proficient in the use of computers for solving problems in Electrical and Electronics Engineering by using the state of the art computer packages like MATLAB, P-Spice and MiPower.  The curriculum is updated from time to time as per the recommendations of the Board of Studies. This ensures that the students are at pace with the advances in technology. Distinguished Lectures supplement classroom instruction, as invited experts share their knowledge and experience with students.

The department focuses on overall development of the students imparting soft skills through projects and seminar presentations and by encouraging Student's Association activities and industrial visits. Value education and professional ethics are also an integral part of the curriculum.

B. Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) in Computer Science and Engineering

B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering is a four year professional undergraduate program offered by Amrita School of Engineering. It is the science that deals with the theory and methods of processing information in digital computers, the design of computer hardware and software, and the applications of computers. The program focuses on theoretical computer science as well as software and application development. This course embodies the science and technology of design, construction, implementation, and maintenance of software and hardware components of modern computing systems and computer-controlled equipment as well as provides strong foundation in mathematics and science. Course syllabi and curricula are updated frequently to meet industry requirements. The curriculum preparation follows the undergraduate curriculum guidelines provided by the Joint Task Force on Computing Curricula: IEEE Computer Society and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). From their fifth semester onwards, students have an opportunity to choose from a wide range of electives. Courses in each knowledge segment are identified as core courses, soft-core courses and electives. There is mandatory registration and a credit earnings requirement for Core and Soft-Core courses.

The students are provided opportunities to develop their professionalism, life-long learning skill, team-work and communication skills through their compulsory participation on a yearlong academic project. Students are encouraged to come up with their own ideas and those ideas are materialized by the department into actual projects with societal impact. The students are also encouraged to publish their work based on the projects undertaken.
