General characters, fungal taxonomy and classification-Fungal growth reproduction and Life cycles- Macro fungi- Ascomycota and Basidiomycota- General Characters, Yeast, Mushrooms, Mycotoxins. Medical mycology- Fungal culture techniques in the laboratory, Host-fungal interactions- Immunity to fungi, dimorphism and role in virulence

Fungal pathogenicity: Spectrum of human mycoses:  Cutaneous mycoses – Dermatophytosis and other superficial infections. Subcutaneous fungal infections, Systemic and Opportunistic-Chromoblastomycosis, Sporotrichosis, Histoplasmosis, Blastomycosis, Candidosis and other yeast infections, Cryptococcosis, Zygomycosis, Aspergillosis, Anti-fungal agents
