ASB Amritapuri Faculty, Mr.Sougata Ray has got the credit of a paper publication titled " Gold ETF Performance: A Comparative Analysis of Monthly Returns " which has been published in the current issue of IUP Journal of Financial Risk Management ( Vol IX, No. 2, 2012).
The paper is coauthored with 2 of our students from the passing out 2010-12 batch, Mr. Mukush Kumar Mukul and Mr. Vikrant Kumar.

Dr. Hardik Vachhrajani is appointment to the Editorial Board of International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change (IJISSC). The International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change (IJISSC) examines current, state-of-the art research in the areas of information systems and social change, and the interactions, linkages, applications, and support of social change using information systems.
This journal offers the opportunity to target research at the cutting edge where technology strategy meets organizational performance, and where organizational performance challenges and provides opportunities for success. The mission of International Journal of Information Systems and Social Change (IJISSC) is to provide an international forum for practitioners and researchers to exchange, share, and present useful and innovative ideas and work. It also enables the presentation and distribution of ground-breaking and original ideas and concepts, which can shape future directions of research. IJISSC also encourages discussions on how information systems can promote social change, and also in turn, how the advances brought about by these social changes can affect the growth in, and future application of, information systems.
Dr. Hardik Vachhrajani delivers a talk at IBS Software Services, Trivandrum
Dr. Hardik Vachhrajani, Assistant Professor at Amritapuri campus was invited to deliver a talk on innovation at IBS Software Services Pvt. Ltd., Trivandrum (http://www.ibsplc.com). IBS is a leading provider of IT solutions to the Travel, Transportation and Logistics (TTL) industry. A specialist in the domain, company offers a range of new-generation solutions that manage mission-critical operations of major airlines, airports, oil and gas companies, seaports, cruise lines and tour operators world-wide. The session was organized as part of the ‘Young Leaders Program’ at IBS. Participants were selected mid management and senior management employees of the organization who have shown the potential to be future leaders. Many of them were people managers with 5-100 people reporting.
The talk was titled as ‘Innovation is not a rocket science’. The key emphasis of the talk was on how to promote innovation in teams. Dr. Hardik shared management techniques which outperforming team leaders use to promote innovation. He shared apparently simple looking initiatives which can have profound impact on overall innovation performance of the team. Dr. Hardik supplemented the points with examples from his research which focuses on innovation strategies adopted by outperforming small and medium enterprises organizations. He also shared global perspectives and practices based on his experience.
Participants from Cochin, Bangalore and London attended the talk via live webcast. The presentation was followed by an open house session. Participants asked questions and also shared their experiences with innovation. More emphasis was given on experience sharing. One of the participants leading a project team said that “Innovation often takes backseat in hectic routines of the day”. Another participant, appreciating the presentation, shared that “Dr. Hardik explained innovation in very simple terminology and we had great learning to take back to our teams.”
“The session was very informative and I am very happy that participants opened up at the end of it”, said Mr. Dileep Choyappally, Manager Human Resource at IBS who coordinates this program and is also a proud ASB Alumni.
ARPEGGIO-2011: The first cultural fest in ASB Amritapuri
ARPEGGIO, the first cultural fest of Amrita School of Business Amritapuri, was well equipped to portray the talent of the future managers of ASB.
Inauguration of the fest took place on 13th August 2011 by Mr. Krishnachandran, renowned singer and actor of the Malayalam film industry. He gave his ideas on the importance of arts in the corporate scenario. The students participated in various competitions like classical singing, dance, skit, tableau etc. ARPEGGIO was the result of teamwork, dedication and enthusiasm of the students. They played different roles of participants and the coordinators and that's the major success of ARPEGGIO. The support from the management and members of faculty also gave strong support for the event.
Inauguration of Batch 2011-13
1st of July, 2011 saw the Dean, the Chairperson of the Amritapuri campus, the senior students, the faculty members and few of the alumni come together to formally inaugurate the Third Batch of Amrita School of Business, Amritapuri held at the Sri Krishna Hall.
The program started at 6pm with the Distinguished Guest of Honor Mr. Korath V. Mathew, Director, Akshaya, Department of IT, Government of Kerala lighting the lamp along with a prayer. The Welcome Address was given by Br. Biju, Head of Corporate and International Relations (CIR) at Amritapuri. Mr. Mathew addressed the students on two issues: Values and Patriotism. He motivated the new minds to imbibe the values which are the pillars of ASB and also to always place society and the country before one self. Dean Gurumurthy Kalyanaram stressed the importance of Quality in every aspect of the School. He motivated the incoming students to focus on their careers right from the beginning, and to chase down their dream jobs with single-minded dedication and passion. The program ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. V.S. Somanath. The floor was then open to informal interaction between the Dean and the students over a plate of snacks.
Corporate Theatre Workshop conducted by Mr. Rajesh from CIR
Amrita School of Business opened her arms to welcome the new students not by putting them through a rigorous academic session, but by helping them to open themselves up and to explore their true potential. The future managers were found making the weirdest of noises and faces and putting a six year old mischievous kid to shame during the Corporate Theatre Workshop conducted by the extremely dynamic Mr. Rajesh, from CIR Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri. The students let go of their personalities and forgot to be self conscious. The Theatre Workshop made the students to shed any form of inhibitions. There were many activities like Tableau and games to engage the students and urged them to be open to the people and the ideas around them. The program ended with a Photo Session and feedback.
