The three IT hubs of ASB are designed, laid out and equipped so scientifically that students can spend hours together at the terminal without fatigue. The total infrastructural facilities available at our computer centre in terms of hardware, software and collection of books afford students to develop their skills in all areas of their study.
The computer laboratories are equipped with more than 150 desktops / workstations, all with color monitors. Sufficient printers are provided in labs for hardcopy requirements. All the computers are internetworked over a fast ethernet link. The computer centre is provided with UPS backup power for upto two hours. In addition to this, generators are available for supplying power beyond UPS backup time.
The network consists of servers running hetrogeneous operating systems, which enable the students to get exposure to multiple operating environments.
The institute also has an installation of the prestigious PARAM 10000 High Performance Computing and Communication (HPCC) system designed and developed by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune. This enables the students to work on Parallel Computing paradigms. A parallel computing research team at Amrita School of Business has developed a high performance computing cluster based on Linux desktops. This cluster is named Sudhamani.
Internet facilities are available to staff and students. The campus network is connected to the internet through a 2MB leased line having an internet bandwidth of 512kbps.
The computer labs in the campus are open to students from 7.00 am to 11.00pm on regular working days. On holidays the labs are kept open from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. The labs are kept open beyond these official timings on requirement basis.
The compuing facilities of School of Business are designed, developed and maintained by the IT Service Group of the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
The IT infrastructure maintenance and development is manned by the Information Comunication Technology Service Group and Enterprise Development Group.
