Global Reach of School of Business
Amrita University in India and The University at Buffalo School of Management are jointly offering a higher educational post-graduate degree program for information technology (IT) services executives in Bangalore. This collaborative venture consists of two master's degrees: a Master of Science (MS) in Management Science: Business Analytics and Systems from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Amrita University.
The MS in Management Science: Business Analytics and Systems program launched Bangalore in 2007. The program consists of two cohorts- a regular MS /MBA cohort and an executive MS/ MBA cohort. The regular cohort is a two-year program using a trimester structure. The executive cohort also spans a two-year period with classes held on weekends. The MS degree offered by the University at Buffalo is a 31-credit program. This is a specialized degree that is unique among Indian educational offerings. While several universities in India offer general management degrees, no other degree program is specifically focused on the management of IT services firms. Classes are taught by UB School of Management faculty in collaboration with Amrita faculty.
MOU with Deakin University,
Deakin University is one of Australia’s fastest growing research universities. After its founding in 1974, the university has been recognized as the Australian University of the Year twice.
The Australian University signed an MoU with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in 2012. This new partnership will expand the global reach of the Amrita School of Business. Two doctoral students from Amrita will be able to pursue their studies and research projects in the Australian University. They will be given a stipend to cover living expenses in Australia and will not be charged any tuition fees. Ms. Shobhana Madhavan from the Amrita School of Business will be the first participant in this program.
Recently Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has been identified as one of the seven universities to be a part of the EU funded program EURECA. This program allows mobility of faculty, post -docs, PhD students, Master's students and under graduate students between Asia and partner universities in Europe. Travel, living expenses, and insurance costs are funded in this scheme. Amrita is one amongst 4 Indian Universities identified for this exchange program. The European universities which collaborate in this program are Malardalen University(MDU), Sweden, Sofia University ,Bulgaria, University of L Aquila, Italy, University of Limerick(UL),Ireland , University of Paderborn, Germany, University of Turku, Finland, University of York, UK , Uppsala University ,Sweden and VU University Amsterdam, Netherlands.
MOU with Groningen University
ASB extends its international profile with a MOU signed in 2007, with University of Groningen, Netherlands. The MOU called for an active exchange of staff, scholars, students, academic information and materials between ASB and Faculty of Economics, and the faculty of Management, University of Groningen. So far five students from Groningen have spent a semester at ASB and ASB faculty have visited Groningen on a research collaboration.
SAP University Alliance Program
ASB is the university alliance partner of SAP-the global major in the ERP domain .Students at ASB get the opportunity of hands on experience on the latest (ECC 6.0) version of SAP. They get exposure into five basic modules - Finance, Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, Production Planning and Cost Management. Students also get an option to go for BPERP certification.
