The coming academic year will see the Amrita Vidyalayams in Kerala move more towards IT-enabled learning.
Vidyamritam—a program to provide scholarships to children by Mata Amritanandamayi Math was inaugurated at Amrita Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Parippally, Kollam. Dr.Soorya Krishnamoorthy distributed the Vidyamritam to the students and Swami Thuriyamridanda puri made the welcome speech.
Vidyamritam—a program to provide scholarships to children of farmers living below the poverty line.Amma announced the new project after discussions on the issue with then-Chief Minister of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh. The program was initiated, 30,000 students from the states of Maharashtra. Many of the beneficiaries are children who lost one or both parents to suicide. The children (ages 10 to 15) receive a monthly stipend until they finish their education, subject to their scholastic performance.
