Amrita Diabetic Foot Conference 2011 held at AIMS, Kochi

The two-day annual conference, Amrita Diabetic Foot Conference 2011, of the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetic Lower Limb and Podiatric Surgery, Amrita institute Of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Kochi, began on Friday May 6, 2011.

Amrita International Conference on Technology Enhanced Education from January 3

Nobel laureate economist Muhammad Yunus, will be the chief guest at the inauguration of International Conference on Technology Enhanced Education to be held on Amritapuri Campus of the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham from January 3 to 5. The conference will discuss on ways and means to raise the level of education in India. 

AIMS to Open High-Tech Eye Bank

Works Minister Ebrahim Kunju inaugurated the Eye Bank at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. Eye specialists from the Amrita Hospital would come to the homes and procure the organ after the death of the person interested. Lion's Clubs' Vasant Bayi handed over a cheque for free cataract surgeries for 150 persons.

World Blood Donors Day Observance

 In connection with the World Blood Donors Day, the Amrita Blood Collectors and Donors (ABCD) Forum, a students' initiative at the AIMS, Kochi, is organising a week-long campaign aimed at increasing the number of voluntary donations to the layman.

Workshop On Plastic Surgery

A three-day workshop on plastic surgery and a course of plastic surgery were inaugurated by Rajasabhapathy, president, Association of Plastic Surgeons of India at AIMS, Kochi. Familiarisation of new techniques in plastic surgery to the students was the aim of the workshop.
