The first week of November at the Health Sciences campus saw the culmination of two colorful student art festivals.
During November 2-5, 2012, over 3200 volunteers participated in a massive clean-up drive at Sabarimala and Pampa in Kerala. Our students, faculty and staff members were among them. See pictures of the historic campaign below.
“Amma always says that protecting nature is as important as protecting one’s own mother. This is the main reason why the Math has undertaken this cleaning drive,” stated Swami Jnanamritananda Puri, delivering a benedictory address.
Over 3,200 volunteers of the Amalabharathom campaign, attached to Mata Amritanandamayi Math, took part in a two-day cleaning drive which concluded at Sabarimala. A host of prominent people, including former union Minister O. Rajagopal; Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham vice chancellor P. Venkat Rangan; and a good number of professionals from India and abroad took part in the campaign.
