Amrita School of Engineering Announces Admissions 2019 Open to BTech Degree

Amrita School of Engineering invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to B.Tech. programmes offered at Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore and Amaravati. Eligibility to apply should be for candidates, whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July, 1998. Educational Qualification requires A pass in 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with not less than 55% in each of these three subjects.

Amrita Canteen Went Plastic-Free A Year Ago

Dr. S. Mahadevan, Deputy Dean, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, said, ''In our canteen, even before this initiative was announced by the state government, we decided to go plastic-free — almost a year ago, in fact. We are using only steel glasses, plates and spoons. Even during the recently held three-day international conference, we had zero plastic usage."
 

Amrita Campus Say No to Plastic

Following the directive from the state government to completely ban single-use plastics from January 2019, many colleges have already taken steps and some are in the process of finding ways to totally banish plastic from the campus, and also advising students to say no to plastic outside the college as well. Dr. S. Indian Navy Signs MoU with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Southern Naval Command Headquarters and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for academic and research collaboration. The MoU was signed between Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command (SNC) and P. Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, a Defence release said here. The MoU, signed in the university's campus at Coimbatore, would encompass fields of mechanical engineering, electronics and communication, computer science and other areas of mutual interest such as bio science, medical and cyber security, the release said.
