Amrita Professor Talks About the Need to Create More Effective Industry-Institution Ties

Prashant R. Nair, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, spoke about the need to create more effective industry-institution ties and to convert more final year engineering projects into startups.

“We are circulating information on STIP-2020 (Science, Technology and Innovation Policy 2020) among various circles and policy experts for inputs and feedback. The policy would impact both technical education and startup ecosystem. So we are trying to make it inclusive and tech-driven,” Prashant said, who is the Institute’s Campus Ambassador for STIP-2020.

In the International Collegiate Programming Contest World Finals 2020 kick-off event at Moscow, on 27 June, 2020, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's ICPC Asia-Amritapuri regional contest was showcased as the largest ICPC site world-wide in the Day Zero symposium presentation by Prof. Prashant R. This ICPC World Finals Day Zero event was inaugurated by Mr. Alexey Volin, Deputy Minister for Digital Development, Communications & Mass Media of Russia.

Amrita Conducts “ Beat Diabetes” Program

The Program “Beat Diabetes” is an ambitious program which aims to screen for complications among persons with Type 2 Diabetes of 5 or more years duration in Ernakulam, parts of Alappuzha and Idukki.
