The field of data science and AI has always been a favored choice for professional level courses or postgraduate programs after pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science or mathematics. However, the rise in demand for AI professionals has created a buzz around the industry to offer more bachelor's programs in AI. Following the ban of the 59 Chinese apps by the Government of India, Ashwin Shenoy (second-year student of the Department of Computer Science Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, Kerala) has developed an application named "BayJDO". He is on a mission to rescue all those who were mourning the ban of Xender and SHAREit. BayJDO is a lightweight, simple yet fast, and secure web application, that allows us to transfer files directly between devices, without requiring users to install dedicated apps or create a special WiFi Hotspot. Transferring files using BayJDO is simple, and it has only one prerequisite – the devices need to be in the same network.
In the wake of the spike in COVID-19 cases in Kochi, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) has set up a separate COVID-19 hospital, exclusively for treating positive cases. According to the AIMS, the 32-bed hospital at Njarakkal will start functioning from next week. The three-storey community healthcare center of AIMS is equipped with 27 beds and five ICU ventilator beds.
With the COVID-19 cases increasing in Ernakulam, Kerala, Health Department of Kerala started taking measures to introduce third phase. As a part of the plan, they have started a COVID treatment facility at the AIMS Community Hall at Njarackal. The infrastructure and manpower required for operating the facility are being provided by Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi.
