Dr. Shantikumar V. Nair, Dean of Research, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Director, Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, was one among the elite panelists of the AuthorCafe workshop, which provided an opportunity for institutions to share experiences about the challenges of building and managing graduate and Ph.D. programs and explore how technology could be an enabler for addressing some of these challenges.

Amrita's Coimbatore Campus Bags 'One District One Green Champion' Award for 2020-21

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, one of India's leading multi-disciplinary teaching and research institutions has won the "One District One Green Champion' award for 2020-21, for its clean and sanitized Coimbatore campus. The award was instituted by the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote cleanliness in campuses of higher education institutions across the country. The annual award takes into account various parameters of hygiene such as student-toilet ratio, hostel hygiene, hostel kitchen hygiene, availability of clean water and administrative responsibility across the country.

Amrita Student Team Aces European Urban Mobility Hackathon 2021

After a string of successes in 2020, the Brain Bucket student team from the School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus in South India, aced Urban Mobility Hackathon 2021 organized by the City of Riga, funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Union. The global hackathon was held virtually from April 15-17, 2021, and had prize money of 3000 Euros. 

The brain bucket student team presented a Smart headgear built on a modular approach based on requirements that two-wheeler Delivery Personnel in gig economy, motorcycle users, cyclists and children to improve general road behaviour and safety.

Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham said, “Amrita is an innovations hub and this concept of modular approach makes technology integration into our daily lives a lot easier and simpler”.

Amrita IQAC Vice-Chair Delivers Keynote Address on NAAC Accreditation Process

Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, delivered the keynote address and provided an overview of the NAAC accreditation process for the virtual launch of the NAAC software solution on August 23, 2021.
