Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Ranked Number One in Swachhta Ranking 2017

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham secured the first rank under the category of Technical Institutions, in the Swacchta Rankings, made by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, India. These rankings were shared to encourage on-campus sanitation activities. A total of 3,500 institutions from across the country participated in the rankings.

Amrita Faculty Member Initiates Sustainable Development Project in Tribal Villages

Dr. Maya Mahajan, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, initiated a new sustainable development project. She has been working with tribal communities of Singampathy, Sarkarporathy and Kalkotipathy to make furniture from the forest weed, Lantana and thereby helping them create a sustainable livelihood in the modern world.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Emerged as the Greenest Educational Institution

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, was awarded first prize by the Kerala State Pollution Control Board and has also emerged as the greenest educational institution. The award, presented by AC Moideen, Minister for Industries, Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt. of Kerala, was received by Brahmachari Sudeep, Director, Amritapuri Campus, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and SN Jyothi, Principal, Amrita School of Engineering. The campus was also selected as "Harita Campus" by the government under the "Harita Keralam" initiative. Amritapuri campus is among the few selected “Harita Campuses” by the state government for its “Harita Keralam” initiatives. The Kerala Government has been appreciative of the efforts made by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham campus in organic farming, sapling planting and massive clean-up drives done every year at Sabarimala and many other places across Kerala.
