Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Technology Business Incubator (TBI) has won the National Award for being the best Technology Business Incubator in the country from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, on 11th May 2017 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The President of India Shri. Pranab Mukherjee presented the national awards for excellence in technology at a ceremony in Delhi to mark the 19th National Technology Day. Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan, CEO, and Snehal Shetty, COO, of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s TBI received the award.

Amrita Sets Up India's First Cyber Security Start Up Hub

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's Technology Business Incubator (TBI) and its Centre for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks (CCSN) have come together to set up India's first startup hub exclusively for cybersecurity. The initiative will bring together research, funding and industry on the same platform to build the next wave of cybersecurity startups in India, TBI CEO Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan said. The new 'Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Cybersecurity Startup Hub' would enable to usher in a new era of innovation, research and startups in the field of cybersecurity, helping Amrita meet a critical national need.

Krishnashree Achuthan, CEO of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Technology Business Incubator (TBI) said that there are more than 4,000 start-ups in the country today, but less than 100 operate in the field of cyber security and build related products. With wars being fought every minute across the world in cyberspace, cyber security has become a strategic national priority. India needs to tackle this challenge from both an economic and military perspective.
