School of Agricultural Sciences Opened in Coimbatore

Adding a new milestone, the School of Agricultural Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, was inaugurated on August 9, 2019, by Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri (Mata Amritanandamayi Math), Prof. S. K. Barik (Director, National Botanical Research Institute) and Mr. A. Shanmugham (MLA, Kinathukadavu Constituency, Tamil Nadu).

Amrita Student Teams Secure Top Ranks in International Hackathons

In yet another successful demonstration of the innovation ecosystem at Amrita, student teams, 'Unorthodox Inc' and 'Yorkers' from the School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, have made a mark in international hackathons and secured top ranks. Unorthodox Inc. was ranked in the top 25 out of 10,000 teams worldwide in the 7th edition of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) EngiNX 2019 engineering design & innovation contest.

The annual 2019 Sulitest Report from was released during review of the 2030 Agenda through the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) at United Nations on July 11, 2019. Amrita School of Business was the only institution from India featured in this report. The High-Level Political Forum at the UN released the 2019 report from Sulitest, which evaluates knowledge on sustainable development goals among students in higher education.

The School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, has earned the distinction of the only Indian institution to find a place in the prestigious United Nations Sustainable Literacy Test (Sulitest) which evaluates knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among students in higher education. Amrita School of Business has figured prominently in the annual report released by the UN on the basis of the number of tests taken per academic organisation, according to Chairman Dr. Raghu Raman, who represented it at this annual event at the UN.
