Amrita Smayogam Highlights Ayurveda as not just Medicine but Health and Life

"Amrita Samyogam 2017" witnessed the integration of Ayurveda and modern medicine, organised by the School of Ayurveda, Amrita University, in association with Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. More than 60 experts in integrative medicine from six countries attended the meet. Dr. Rajesh Kotecha, Special Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH was the chief guest of the event. The participants will identify strategies for integrating Ayurveda with Allopathy in the management of diseases like cancer, diabetes and arthritis.

Amrita Samyogam Ensures National Policy to Integrate Ayurveda with Allopathy

The experts who had assembled at India’s biggest conference on integrative Ayurveda and modern medicine at Kochi’s Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences said that The Government needs to formulate a national policy on the integration of Ayurveda with allopathy so that India can take its rightful place as the global leader in integrative medicine. The two-day event called Amrita Samyogam, in which more than 60 experts and 1,000 delegates from around the world participated, was held in collaboration with Amrita University’s School of Ayurveda. It was inaugurated by Dr. Rajesh Kotecha, Special Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH.

Amrita Samyogam Hosts an International Conference on Integrative Ayurveda and Modern Medicine

The international conference on integrative Ayurveda and modern medicine, Amrita Samyogam 2017, was attended by 60 experts and 1,000 delegates from around the world. Experts assembled at the conference said that the Central Government needs to formulate a national policy on the integration of Ayurveda with allopathy so that India can take its rightful place as the global leader in integrative medicine.

Amrita to Conduct Conference on Integrative Ayurveda and Modern Medicine

Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences(AIMS) will conduct a two-day event, titled Amrita Samyogam 2017, on 6th August 2017, which is held in collaboration with Amrita University’s School of Ayurveda. It will be inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Yasso Naik. This is India’s biggest conference on integrative Ayurveda and modern medicine, in which 60 experts and 1,000 delegates from around the world will participate.

Conference on Mental Health at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, along with its School of Social Work, University of Buffalo, organised a 3 day workshop on "International Conference on Nurturing Global Mental Health". The workshop discussed lack of awareness about the symptoms, social stigma, and insufficient treatment facilities. The society's view about mental health disorders such as depression, and anxiety are clouded by several misconceptions, with exorcism and magic still considered a part of treatment in rural India and even some urban areas, said the experts who attended the workshop.
