Finnish Cyber Security Expert Visits Amrita
Dr. Raimo Kantola, Professor of Networking Technology, Department of Communications and Networking, Aalto University (Finland), visited the Amritapuri, Coimbatore, and Kochi campuses in early 2016.
Amrita University’s Technology Business Incubator (TBI) and its Centre for Cyber security Systems and Networks (CCSN) have come together to set up India’s fi rst startup hub to focus exclusively on cyber security. The initiative will bring together research, funding and industry on the same platform to build the next wave of cyber security startups in India.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's Technology Business Incubator (TBI) and its Centre for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks (CCSN) have come together to set up India's first startup hub exclusively for cybersecurity. The initiative will bring together research, funding and industry on the same platform to build the next wave of cybersecurity startups in India, TBI CEO Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan said. The new 'Amrita Vishwa VidyapeethamCybersecurity Startup Hub' would enable to usher in a new era of innovation, research and startups in the field of cybersecurity, helping Amrita meet a critical national need.
A five-day global workshop on cybersecurity and data protection is being held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Bengaluru campus. Over a dozen globally renowned experts and academics from diverse fields in computer science are attending the 7th International Summer School on Information Security and Protection (ISSISP). This is an annual global event on software security and protection which is being held for the first time in India. It has previously been hosted by the US, China, Belgium, Italy and Brazil.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has collaborated with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and School Education Department to run a pilot project called "Redesigning Educational Pathways using Technology andInnovative Pedagogical Constructs for Scalable Quality Education and Lifelong Learning" in selected state model school.
