Visiters From 100 Nations Attended Amma's 58thBirthday Celebrations

Hundreds of visitors from over 100 countries reached Amritapuri in Kollam to attend the 58th Birthday Celebrations of Mate Amritanandamayi Devi. To manage this mammoth gathering, the Math has made extensive hospitality arrangements by way of free food, water, stay, transport logistics, toilet facilities at the Amritapuri campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, an Ashram Press release said here today. To provide free food, 200 food counters were set up which were managed by students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Mr M P Virendra Kumar, MD, Matrubhumi, was honoured with the Amrita Keerthi Puraskar at the event.

Mata Amritanandamayi Math to create cadre of 10,000 Home Nurses

The Mata Amritanandamayi Math launched a new initiative of creating a cadre of 10,000 Home Nurses in Kerala as part of the 58th birthday celebration of the Mata Amritanandamayi Devi on September 27th 2011. The Home Nurse Initiative was inaugurated by the then Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan at Amritapuri campus.

The Mata Amritanandamayi Math launched a new initiative of creating a cadre of 10,000 Home Nurses in Kerala as part of the 58th birthday celebration of the Mata Amritanandamayi Devi on September 27th, 2011. The training of Home Nurses will be imparted by Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Launched Free Online Tuition Programme

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham announced a pioneering online education initiative - Free All India Tuition Programme, for all college students. The online programme is supported by the Ministry of Human Resources Development’s (MHRD) National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NME-ICT) initiative. Initially, the pilot programme was launched in Kerala and later, extended to other States.
