International Women’s Day 2021 Observed at Amrita Mysuru Campus

The Women’s Cell in association with the Department of Visual Communication, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, observed the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2021, with the theme “Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World,” to celebrate the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the gaps that remain.

Amrita AHEAD Launches Online Degree Programs

Amrita AHEAD, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has announced the launch of its online full-degree programs in alignment with the new education policy. The programs offered include BBA, MBA, BCA, MCA, MCA in artificial intelligence and cyber security. A six-week certificate program, on Mahabharata is also offered. The programs are fully recognized by the UGC and equivalent to the Amrita’s on campus degrees.

Amrita Hospital Gear Up to Treat COVID-19 Patients

In the wake of the spike in COVID-19 cases in Kochi, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) has set up a separate COVID-19 hospital, exclusively for treating positive cases. According to the AIMS, the 32-bed hospital at Njarakkal will start functioning from next week. The three-storey community healthcare center of AIMS is equipped with 27 beds and five ICU ventilator beds.
