Amrita Samyogam Provides Ways to Ensure Quality Life and Happiness

"Amrita Samyogam 2017" witnessed the integration of Ayurveda and modern medicine, organised by the School of Ayurveda, Amrita University, in association with Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. More than 60 experts in integrative medicine from six countries attended the meet. Dr. Rajesh Kotecha, Special Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH was the chief guest of the event. The participants will identify strategies for integrating Ayurveda with Allopathy in the management of diseases like cancer, diabetes and arthritis.

The first ever conference in India on Robotics and Automation for Humanitarian Applications (RAHA 2016) began at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus. On the side lines of the robotics conference at Amritapuri, its possibility in rescue mission in a disaster prone area, Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi told that the seeds of research and development at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham had sprouted from the inherent yearning to minimise human suffering and help the deserving. "Totally unaware of the sea state, the fishermen venture into the sea and that led to the development of OceanNet offering internet connectivity for fishermen at sea to help them stay safe, lack of coconut climbers affected the livelihood of the rural women and now Ammachi labs has come up with a solution by designing robotic coconut climbers," she said.

Invited talk at International Brain Cells and Circuits Neuroscience Course held in Erice, Italy

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Professor Dr. Shyam Diwakar was an invited speaker at the School of Brain Cells & Circuits "Camillo Golgi" course titled "The cerebellum inside-out: cells, circuits and functions" held from December 1-5, 2016 at Erice, Italy. He gave a talk titled "Computational Neurosciences of Cerebellar Circuit Disorders" during the round table session. 

Amrita Alumna Wins 2015 KTH Masters Challenge India and Secures Rs. 23 Lakh Scholarship

Neha Kumari, a graduate of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri campus,won first place at the 2015 KTH Masters Challenge India competition in the field of Electric Power Engineering. Neha competed against applicants from the IITs, NITs, and other highly ranked universities throughout India and was the only female finalist in the entire competition. As the first place winner, Neha secured a fully funded scholarship for a two year masters degree at the internationally reputed KTH-Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) sponsored by ABB worth Rs. 23 lakhs, a living allowance sponsored by ABB worth Rs. 12 lakhs, and an opportunity to do a summer internship at ABB in Stockholm, Sweden.
