Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences Received High Ranking Accrediations

Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences has been granted NABH (National Accreditation Board of Hospitals & Health Care Providers) accreditation. The institution also received the accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for its laboratories and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the highest grade of A. It was officially announced by the then defence minister, Shri.A.k.Antony. The Vice Chancellor, Dr.Venkat Rangan and the Director, AIMS, Dr.Prem Nair received the NABH award and Dr.D.M Vasudevan, Professor, Biochemistry received the NABL award from the minister. Amrita is the first institution teaching hospital to get NABH accreditation in the country.

PET CT Scanner Inaugurated at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi

PET (Positron Emitting Tomography) CT Scanner, the first of its kind in the state of Kerala, extremely useful for early detection of cancer, has been installed in AIMS, Kochi and was inaugurated in July 2009 by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India.
