Amrita to Launch Technology Enabling Center Supported by DST, Govt. of India

The Amritapuri campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will soon launch a Technology Enabling Center (TEC) supported by the Government of India's Department of Science and Technology (DST). The first Programme Advisory Group (PAG) meeting was held at Amritapuri campus on September 21, 2019.

On September 7, 2019, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, celebrated its graduation day in the presence of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Chancellor Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), Chief Guest Prof. Hemantha Kumar (Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore) and Guest of Honor, Dr. G. M. Nair (Secretary, Government of Kerala, India).

Dr. Amalendu Jyotishi, Professor, Amrita School of Business, Bengaluru campus, spoke on "Land Tenure Systems and Land Degradation Neutrality" at the UNCCD Conference of Parties (COP14) event "Sustainable Transitions of Shifting Cultivation Systems for Land Degradation Neutrality- Opportunities and Challenges in the Uplands of South and Southeast Asia" on September 4, 2019, organized by IFAD at New Delhi, India.

16th Convocation Ceremony of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore Campus

The 16th Convocation of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, was held on August 31, 2019. 1656 students from the disciplines of Engineering, Business, Arts & Sciences, Mass Communication and Social Work received their degrees. These included 15 PhDs and 60 medalists.

Recently, Professor Raghu Raman was invited to the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative at UN, since the Amrita School of Business was the only Indian institution to find a place in the prestigious United Nations Sustainable Literacy Test which evaluates knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among students in higher education.
