Amrita Green Energy Lab Conducts Workshop on Dye Sensitized Solar Cells Using Natural Dyes

A workshop on Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) using natural dyes was conducted at D. B. Pampa College, Parumala on July 22, 2016 by the Amrita Green Energy Lab team as a part of Physics Association inauguration “Oorjam 2016” of their department of Physics.

The Green Energy Lab team from Amritapuri campus coordinated a special session on “Solar Cells” at the International Conference on Electrical, Electronics, and Optimization Techniques (ICEEOT) - 2016 conference held at DMI College of Engineering, Chennai from 3-5 March, 2016.

102nd Indian Science Congress 2015 Best Poster Award (Physical Sciences) for Green Energy Lab in Amrita School of Biotechnology

The work entitled “Effect of Cristallinity of Nb2O5 Electron Blocking Layer in Dye Sensitized Solar Cells” won the best poster award in the Physical Sciences section, at the 102nd Indian Science Congress (ISC) 2015. The award carries prize money of Rs.5, 000/- besides a Certificate of Merit. The conference was held at the University of Mumbai from January 3-7, 2015.

Amrita School of Biotechnology hosted Biocrest 2015, an international mini-symposium, commemorating the school’s 10th anniversary. The day commenced with a welcome speech by Dr. Bipin Nair, Dean, School of Biotechnology. The benedictory speech was delivered by Swami Amritaswaroopananda Puri, President, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and the inaugural address was given by the honorary guest of honor, G. C. Gopala Pillai, Founder and MD, Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA).
