The School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, will be conducting an Online Course on Knowledge Enhancement for School Teachers” from July 11-15, 2020.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Confidence and Knowledge Enhancement
  • Effective Classroom Management and Teaching Methodology
  • Adapting the Latest Technology for Online Teaching
  • Online Assessment Tools in Teaching
  • Challenges in Technology and its solutions.

Our aim is to make sure that teachers do not lose your positive spirits and focus on taking this to learn more and to upgrade themselves. We believe in delivering the best examples, teaching experiences and tools from our faculty themselves.

Br. Maheshwara Chaitanya,
Asst. Prof. in CS, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus

Br. Maheshwara Chaitanya has  15+ Years of teaching experience in the computer science domain.

He is also the contest director for the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), The world famous Olympics of competitive programming.

He was instrumental in bringing up to Amrita university to top globally. In 2013, he earned the ‘Asia Distinguished Leadership award’ for his 10 Year service in uplifting the programming community in India.

He has addressed 6000+ school students, guiding them with choosing a career.

Dr. Vidhya Balasubramaniam,
Associate Prof. in CSE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.

As a member of the Distributed Systems Middleware group in University of California, Irvine, USA, she worked on user-based multimedia content adaptation for distance learning. She has worked on building large simulation platforms for disaster response in the ITR-Rescue project, part of California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2).Her experience working on large systems has given her rich experience in large scale data management and scalable algorithms. She recently has been developing plug and play configurable frameworks for Indoor Information Systems, and Smart Hospitals and is currently working on various projects have been funded by Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India.

  3. Monday, July 13 – Session 3
    Module 3: Effective classroom management techniques and teaching methodologies

    • Blended Learning is the future
    • How to reduce the teaching workload
    • Best time management practices with the help of technology for teachers
    • Using internet and online tools to manage learning
    • Best assessment practices
  4. Tuesday, July 14 – Session 4
    Module 4: Online assessment tools in teaching

    • Comparison of various platforms for online teaching
    • Implementation of assessment practices in these platforms
    • Tools to teach various subjects and assess online
