The M. S. in Shalya Tantra (Samanya) provides students an in-depth understanding of the principles of modern surgery. The department has made substantial contributions in the fields of Ano-Rectal Diseases, Wound Management, Urinary Disorders and Fracture Healing. The course includes study of ancient surgical procedures described in treatises, clinical and surgical applications of various treatment modalities, successful treatment for piles and fistula as per Ayurvedic methodology, treatment of chronic diseases with blood-letting through leeches and practical training of surgical procedures on patients at well equipped operation theatre and procedure room. It is a significant research branch of Ayurveda.
Duration : Three years from the date of commencement of classes.
