Dr. A. Balasubramanian has completed a funded project entitled ‘Documentation of the lifestyle of the Irula tribe in Gudular, Nilgiri District, Tamil Nadu with an emphasis on socio-economic development of the community’ funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST) under ‘Natural Resources Data Management System’ (NRDMS) with a rant of Rs. 15.95 lakhs. This project is a pursuit to visual document of the Irula tribes’ problems, the resources identification and steps to be taken to develop cultural, economic, and social well-being of the community through proper education. He is also an Associate Editor in International Journal of Instruction, Technology and Social Sciences and served as a Reviewer for Journals, Conferences and Swayam course on Photojournalism.
Dr. Kalyani Suresh was chosen as the Best Professor Teaching Advertising Management by ABP News for the National B-School Awards 2013, and is the recipient of the Indira Parikh 50 Women in Education Leaders award, 2019.

Department of Mass Communication have produced two PhD candidates and more than 12 scholars are pursuing their PhD. PhD Scholar Ms. Neethu Parvathy’s paper “Rituals that Bond and Rituals that Divide: Evidence from a Tribal Society in India‟ has been accepted for publication in the American Sociological Association Conference 2020 . She was awarded an ICSSR fellowship with a grant of Rs 70,000/-
