Overview

B.Sc Nursing is a four year full time degree programme which prepare graduates to practice nursing in various settings. Under Amrita Vishwa vidyapeetham B.Sc Nursing programme follows a semester system and will be delivered as per the Indian Nursing Council Syllabus. The programme adopts a credit system with choice based credit system applicable to the electives. Competence based and outcome based approach used for the B.Sc Nursing programme prepare the graduates to provide safe and effective care to the patients with various health care needs.

Eligibility
  1. Age: Minimum 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age limit for admission shall be 35 years
  2. Educational Qualification
    • Candidates from the Science stream who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) can apply. They must have a minimum of 45% marks when Physics, Chemistry and Biology are taken together. Also, they should have a pass mark in English as well.
    • Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government having Science subjects and English only.
    • English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing).

Color-blind candidates are eligible provided that color-corrective contact lenses and spectacles are worn by such candidates.

The candidate shall be medically fit.

Married candidates are also eligible for admission.

Kochi Campus

Eligibility

Must have passed 12th in the first attempt and with a minimum of 60% in English and 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together from any State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent,NRI’S and Persons of Indian Origin(PIO) who qualifies from foreign universities will have to produce an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The candidates shall be medically fit.

Selection Process
  • Selection is purely based on the marks scored in +2 along with interview or Amrita Entrance Examination.
  • 50% of seats are reserved for meritorious candidates under the scholarship category.

  • Scholarship Category: Total First Year course fees = Rs.1,50,000/- + Rs.46,390/-+Rs.67,000/-  =Rs.2,63,390/-
  • Non-ScholarshipCategory: Total First Year course fees = Rs.2,00,000/- +Rs.46,390/- + Rs.67,000/ – = Rs.3,13,390/-
  • NRI: Total First Year course fees = US$3,500/- + Rs.46,390/-+ Rs.67,000/- Please note that Tuition Fees has to be paid in US$ ONLY every year.
  • Every academic year Tuition fees and Hostel and mess fees remains the same for all seat categories.
  • Hostel and Mess is compulsory for all UG students.

Course Details

Eligibility & Selection

Age : Minimum 17 years of age and maximum 23 years on or before 31st December 2022

Selection

Selection for candidates will be based on the rank obtained in the Amrita Entrance Examination. Allotment of seats will be based on the performance for the counseling.

Out of the total seats, 50% seats will be allotted to Merit category and 50% to Regular Fee (Non-scholarship category) including NRI i.e. 15% of seats.

Candidate applying through agents / education counsellors using fraudulent means/bribery/donation will be debarred to secure an admission in any of the course in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

It is important for the candidate to register their commonly used mobile number/email id. Do not provide email id/mobile number of education counsellors/agents/internet café operators etc. The candidate is solemnly responsible for any negligence.
