Amrita School of Arts, Humanities, and Commerce (ASAHC) offers PhD programs in Amritapuri Campus. The school is home to students and researchers interested in the academics and research of Literature, Arts, Humanities and Commerce. All human cultures throughout history have placed a high value on humanities and the arts. The school’s research promotes greater intercultural understanding and build the foundation for life. Research within commerce and management plays a pivotal role in enriching knowledge, guiding decisions, and nurturing innovation and growth within the business and economic domains.

Our department has amassed an impressive publication count, totalling over 70 publications across various academic and research endeavours. With a team of 15 faculty members (5 faculty  holding Ph.D.), in the department, and one faculty guide from Amrita Ahead Online Programs, along with over 48 active research scholars exploring various domains such as Sustainable Development, Supply Chain and Operations Management, Human Resources, Finance, Insurance, Tax, Organizational Behaviour, Tourism, Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, Talent Management, Microfinance, Green Marketing, and Corporate Social Responsibility, a broad spectrum of expertise and research endeavours are being pursued.

Research facilities for PhD scholars in the Arts, Humanities and Commerce starts with the –

  • Archival Facilities: For scholars working on historical research or projects that require access to primary source materials, access to archival facilities is available through Amrita’s digital repositories.
  • Library Resources: Access to a comprehensive library with a wide range of books, journals, and digital resources is essential for Arts, Humanities and Commerce research. This includes access to online databases, archives, and special collections relevant to the scholar’s area of study.
  • Computing Resources: Access to computing resources, including computers with relevant software, statistical analysis tools, and access to online research platforms in the Computer Lab offers data analysis and other digital research methods.
  • Research work/Presentation & Office Spaces: Opportunities for PhD scholars to present their research at conferences and seminars are made available in the department. Office and working spaces within the department / University supports scholars in engaging research work and sharing the progress of their work with the academic community.
  • Collaborative Spaces in the department: Spaces for scholars to interact, collaborate with their peers and faculty members, via shared offices and research centers, support the development of their research.
  • Research Support Services: Services such as research assistance, research writing support, access to research workshops and training programs is offered through Research Day’s organised in the Department/School helping PhD scholars to develop their research skills and navigate the various stages of the research process.
