The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has a blend of teaching and research activities pertinent to both electrical engineering and electronics engineering. The team of faculty share a common vision of imparting high-quality teaching interlaced with design, research and development. We firmly believe that research and teaching must maintain a symbiotic relationship to keep the academic atmosphere fresh and responsive to the rapidly rising scientific and technological advancements. The curriculum is devised in such a way, that the growing young technologists gets imbibed with solidity of time-tested ideas on which one can develop a niche and inclination towards learning technological advancements. At the same time, we are also acutely aware of the need to incorporate flexibility into the curriculum that allows a student to explore avenues through various subject electives that appeal to student.
The department offers B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics engineering since 2004, M.Tech in Power Electronics since 2010, M.Tech in Embedded Systems since and Ph.D. programme since 2012. The diversity of academic interests is reflected in the breadth of theoretical and laboratory courses that we offer and the research activities of the faculty members. The Electrical and Electronics Engineering discipline aims to impart a strong hands-on flavor to the courses, and it, therefore, places great emphasis on the laboratory component, internships, and projects. Most of our B. Tech. and M. Tech. students carry out summer internships at reputed industries in India and abroad.
The discipline has a healthy mixture of young and experienced faculty members, all of whom display high levels of enthusiasm and dedication. In accession to teaching and research; the faculty members are actively involved in organizing technical workshops, faculty development programmes, short courses in focus areas and visits of scholars to create an environment conducive to experiential learning. Further, the drive for learning doesn’t end here, the faculty members involve in IEEE activities, create an environment of industry oriented learning by inviting the luminaries from various domains for expert lectures.
Research interests of the faculty include power electronics application in renewable energy technologies, power electronic drives, power management in electric vehicle, multilevel inverters, image processing, signal processing, robotics, embedded systems, VLSI, microgrid etc., Funded research labs are being set up in the few listed research areas through extramural grants received from VGST, and DRDO.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has not appointed any Agent or Third-Party Client for securing admission in any programme. Students are hereby requested to contact only the toll-free number on our website for any admission related queries.
