Overview

MD/MS programs are offered at Amrita School of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi. MD is offered in 20 streams and MS in 5 streams.

After NEET – PG 2021-2022 results are published, candidates are advised to visit the Medical Counselling Committee’s (MCC) website for participating in All India Deemed University counselling conducted by the Directorate General of health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), New Delhi.

Selection for PG Medical (MD/MS) Admissions is based on the NEET PG 2021-2022 All India Rank. Admission of candidates is based on the centralised online allotment list published in the MCC website.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the MCC website for latest notifications regarding counselling schedule / reschedules / counselling scheme and other updations after NEET-PG 2021-2022 results. Candidates must also visit Amrita PG Medical webpage frequently for further instructions and guidelines regarding reporting for admissions.

Eligibility Criteria: NEET PG – 2021 qualified General and NRI Category candidates who have been allotted to Amrita School of Medicine by the MCC, New Delhi are eligible to report for admissions for the academic year 2021-22.

Instructions and Guidelines for Allotted Candidates

Candidates who have been allotted seats in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences for MD and MS courses by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through centralized common counseling should report at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi on or before the last date of reporting as per MCC guidelines.

Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, the below Special Instructions are to be followed by candidates while reporting physically: –

  1. Candidates are requested to enter the Amrita Medical College building only.
  2. Candidates along with one Parent / Guardian must carry RTPCR Negative result while reporting to college.
  3. Upon arrival at Medical college building candidates must collect the token from Security.
  4. From there, candidates will be directed to Medical College Building Ground Floor where Admission Reporting, Document Verification & Registration will be done.
  5. Candidates and Parent / Guardian should wear N-95 masks compulsorily.

  • Registration certificate with Travancore Cochin Medical Councils has to be submitted within a period of one month from the date of admission, failing which his/her admission shall stand cancelled.
  • Internship Completion Certificate (from the Head of Institution or college that the candidate shall complete the internship by 31stMarch of the year of admission).
  • Attempt certificate
  • High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth.
  • Candidates allotted seat must carry one of the identification proofs (ID Proof) to the allotted college at the time of admission (as mentioned in the information Bulletin published by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for AIPGMEE/ AIPGDEE i.e. PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport or Aadhaar Card).
  • Transfer Certificate from the institution last studied (if not received from the institute, mention the reason and to be submitted while reporting for admission physically to Amrita).
  • Migration Certificate from the University (if not received from the institute mention the reason and to be submitted while reporting for admission physically to Amrita).
  • Recent passport size color photographs – 6 nos
  • Copies of all certificates (one set – self attested)
  • In Addition to the above, a Hand Written and Self Attested undertaking by the candidate stating as under: –
  • “I hereby declare that all the information given/uploaded by me in the application is factually correct and true to the best of my knowledge and belief. I undertake that in the event of any information being found false or incorrect at any stage, my candidature is liable to be cancelled and I will have no claim on the seat allotted to me by the competent authority”.
  • Character and conduct certificate
  • Medical Certificate for fitness (as per the format prescribed)

NOTE: –

  • The above certificates mentioned in originals are mandatory and have to be submitted in original to Academics Office at the time of reporting for admission.
  • Candidates reporting for admissions with incomplete list of the above documents will not be allowed to undertake the admission procedure & will be rejected. The same will be intimated to DGHS.
  • Candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institute/ College/University and come for admission with a certificate stating that “their original certificates are deposited with the Institute / College / University” will not be allowed to take admission in allotted Medical College.
  • Candidates are advised to keep with them a softcopy/hardcopy of all the submitted documents for their future requirements.

In addition to the above, NRI candidates are required to produce the below documents:

  • Documents claiming that the sponsor is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsor).
  • Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders of The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in case W.P.(c) No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Ans. Vs Union of India & Ors. dated 22-08- 2017.
  • Affidavit from the sponsor that he/ she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.
  • Embassy Certificate of the Sponsor (Certificate from the Consulate).
  • NEET Score Card of the candidate.
  • Copy of passport and visa of the candidate (for Foreign Nationality)

ADMISSION CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

1 Candidate who joins through MCC allotment and then upgrades to the next round to another college. Cancellation procedure as per the DGHS/MCC Counseling Norms.
2 Candidate cancels admission (in any circumstance) leaving the seat vacant for the entire course duration First year Course Fees paid will not be refunded. In addition to this, residents should pay the Tuition Fees for the remaining course duration (as applicable to each course) as liquidated damages to the institution.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A candidate will be eligible for consideration under Stray Vacancy Admission have to mandatorily register by sending an email (Name, NEET Roll number & rank, interested speciality, Contact Number) to pgadmissions@aims.amrita.edu on or before 29th April  2022, 5:00PM.
  • Only those candidates whose name will be present in the merit list of candidates provided by MCC shall be eligible for the Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Once the merit list is published by the MCC, candidates registered with Amrita will be shortlisted based on the order of Merit i.e. NEET – AIR.
  • The intimation for physical reporting for such candidates will be made through telephonic call/Email/SMS.
  • “CANDIDATES MUST BE PHYSICALLY PRESENT DURING THE TIME OF ADMISSION/VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS AT THE COLLEGE. ANY AUTHORIZED PERSON IN ABSENCE OF THE CANDIDATE WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.”
  • Candidates not adhering to the above conditions will not be eligible for Stray vacancy allotment process.
