M. D. in Radiotherapy is a Clinical Speciality course offered by the Amrita School of Medicine.
The M. D. in Radiotherapy is a three year Clinical Specialty course. Radiotherapy or Radiation therapy or Radiation Oncology is mostly used for the treatment of critical disorders like cancer, thyroid disorders and some blood disorders through the high energy X-rays. The course explores the aspects of Radiation Biology, Radiation chemistry, relevance of radiation biology to radiotherapy, radiation effects on major organs/tissues, Clinical Radiotherapy. After successful completion of the course, one can work as a Consultant Radiation Oncologist in hospital, clinic, and health department in both Governments as well as private sectors.
