Program Overview

Prepare for an Integrated M. Sc. (Master of Science) Physics

The Integrated M. Sc. Physics Program at Amrita aims to train the students in high level theoretical knowledge enabling them to tackle practical complex problems in industrial fields as well as to pursue further academic achievements through research. Since Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences are fundamental courses in sciences, students will be taught a mix of all these four subjects during the first two years. After successful completion of fundamental courses, a student will take up core courses in physics. In addition to the core physics subjects, the students can acquire additional expertise in special area of physics in the final year. During this period, all possible opportunities will be created for close interaction with research institutes and industries so as to provide high level training. After successful completion of the academic requirements, students are awarded a Master of Science degree.

Thus the main objective of this program is to prepare the younger generation to cope with the emerging scenario in the top level industries, academic and research institutions.

Eligibility

Admission

Eligibiliity

A pass in +2 or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in Physics and an aggregate of 55 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Selection Process

Based on Score from JEE-Main, IISER admission test or Amrita Entrance examination 2022.

For Coimbatore Campus,

  • 30 seats will be filled based on the marks of the qualifying examination.
  • 20 seats will be filled based on the AEEE 2022 Ranks
  • 10 seats will be filled based on the IISER / JEE Ranks.

Refund Policy 2022

 

1. Withdrawal Requests received before the commencement of the programme  The entire academic fee after deducting the processing fee of Rs.1000/- will be refunded. 

2. Withdrawal Requests received within 10 days after the commencement of classes The entire academic fee after deducting 10% will be refunded. 

3. Withdrawal Requests received after 10 days and within 20 days from the commencement of classes  The entire academic fee after deducting 20% will be refunded. 

4. Withdrawal Requests received after 20 days and within 30 days from the commencement of classes.  The entire academic fee after deducting 50% will be refunded. 

5. Withdrawal Requests received after 30 days  No refund of any academic fees

Scholarship Scheme

SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME(at the time of admission) is offered for all courses (except Ph.D.)

  • Scheme 1 – Applicants having above 95% marks in the qualifying examination: 50% concession in Tuition Fees
  • Scheme 2 – Applicants having marks between 90% and 94% in the qualifying examination: 40% concession in Tuition Fees
  • Scheme 3 – Applicants having marks between 80% and 89% in the qualifying examination: 30% concession in Tuition Fees
