Dr. Dayana Das (Amritalakshmi) serves as Assistant Professor and Chairperson in Department of Commerce & Management, Amrita School of Arts & Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri. She earned her Ph.D. from Faculty of Arts, Media and Commerce, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, Kollam, Kerala, India. With a background of Post-Graduation in Business Administration specialized in Human Resources Management and Marketing, she has been since inception of the Department from 2006 and has over a decade of academic experience at Amrita School of Arts & Sciences, Amritapuri. Her areas of experience include Human Resources Management, Entrepreneurship, Women Empowerment, Gender Studies, Leadership in Organizations, Management for Engineers, Managerial Economics, Econometrics, Research Methods and Statistical Tools, Small Business Management, Non-Profit Organizations and Management, Microfinance. She has taken foremost initiative and administered for Entrepreneurship Development Club in alliance with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Kerala and Technology Business Incubator, Amritapuri, Kollam, Kerala, for student communities to engage in entrepreneurial and skill development activities in the Department. Her skill scales to achieve the programme objectives of the BBA, BCom (Taxation&Finance) and MCom (Finance & Systems), programmes offered by the department.
Dayana Das is a keen researcher on the impact and implications of Programs/Schemes/Policies on Women, empowerment, entrepreneurship and substantiable enterprise development. She has been the principal supervisor of Post Graduate student research projects and has authored and co-authored papers in International Journals on research topics having thrust on Social Entrepreneurship, Start Up Enterprises and Innovation, Self Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups among Agriculturists, Coastal livelihood and micro business.
