The School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, conducted a free medical camp in the village Changankulangara in Kollam district around 10 kilometres away from the institution with the support of the Sri Sai Old Age Home, on June 27, 2019 (Sunday). The medical camp was conducted as part of its extension programme in the curriculum for the improvement of the clinical skills and social responsibilities among the students.
The team consisted of three faculty members and 12 Post Graduate scholars from the Department of Shakya Tantra, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri.
The camp started at 10 am after the prayer. 35 patients were registered and provided treatment. Medicine for five days were given free of cost to the patients and encouraged them to continue their treatment on free medical camps at Amrita School of Ayurveda on every Tuesday and Friday. The local organisers provided food and other facilities for the doctors.
