Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, will organize an IoT Bootcamp from December 2019- January 2020.

The Bootcamp is designed for both beginners and expert level of IoT enthusiasts. It focuses on selecting the right platform [Arduino, R-Pi, PSoC] for an IoT application, with an application-oriented hands-on exercise on Hardware, Software, Sensor system and Communication technologies.

  • How to choose the right embedded board and design an optimum architecture for your application
  • Build your own IoT system for a real world application with the hands-on training.

Eligibility: Basic programming knowledge

Trainers:

Dr. Ramkumar N.

Ramkumar N. is an Assistant Professor at the Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications, Amritapuri. His current work involves testing and working on various wireless network protocols in the landslide deployment site at Munnar. His research focus and interests encompass IoT frameworks, Implementation of low latency data transmission. Towards this, Ram has authored and co-authored several research papers. He has extensive teaching and programming experience in python and cpp.

Aravind Hanumanthaiah

Aravind Hanumanthaiah currently serves as a Research Associate at the Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (Amrita WNA), Amritapuri. He has over 5 years of industry experience in design, development, and testing of electrical and control systems during his stint as an Electrical Engineer at Branson Ultrasonics Corp, a subsidiary of Emerson Industrial Automation, Danbury, CT, USA.His current areas of research work at Amrita WNA include Embedded Hardware, Software and Product development – Analog and Digital circuit design, Microcontrollers, FPGA, PSoC, PCB design, Wireless Communication. He has his publications in various IEEE Conferences.

Sai Shibu N. B.

Sai Shibu N. B. currently serves as a Research Assistant III at the Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (Amrita WNA), Amritapuri. He is involved in various research activities in the Intelligent Infrastructure Research Group and the Pervasive Mobile Computing Research Group, mainly focusing on Smart Energy Distribution, Lightweight Middleware Development, Marine Communication System, the Application of Machine Learning Techniques in the Energy domain and Blockchain-based Energy Trading. He was involved in the Micro Hydro Rural Electrification Project at Idukki. He was an active member of the Indo-European collaborative project on Energy Research in Smart Grids named as Stabiliz-E. He worked with the German (fortiss GmbH) and Portugal (Evoleo Technologies) Partners in developing a Software System for the Campus Level Smart Distribution Testbed. He is also the faculty in charge of the Smart Energy Systems Lab. He has recently received DST-DAAD PhD Scholarship for his research on Smart Services and Optimisation for Microgrids. Sai Shibu is pursuing his PhD at Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications. His advisor is Dr Seshaiah Ponnekanti. He has published his research works in ACM and IEEE Conferences and has received 2 best paper awards in IEEE Conferences.

Arjun D.

Arjun D. graduated with honours from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Wireless Networks & Applications. He is currently working as a Research Assistant in Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications. His areas of interest are Embedded Systems, Wireless Networks, Wireless Communication, IoT, Signal Processing.
