Makara Sankranthi Celebrations – Amrita Bengaluru Campus

The School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru, celebrated ‘Makara Sankranthi’ on 15th January 2020 in a traditional way. Students of B.Tech., M.Tech. and MBA disciplines, in unison, decorated the whole campus with beautiful rangolis, sugarcane, kites etc. The celebrations commenced at 5:00 AM with the customary Bhogi, the first day of Pongal which signifies the disposal of old things and welcoming new beginnings. A bonfire was lit up to burn the old beliefs.

The cultural program began in the evening at 5:30 PM with performances by Narthana, The dance troupes enthralled the spectators with amazing moves on various songs. The active participation of students and faculty in this splendid gala resonated throughout the day.
