Sree Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated from August 26-27, 2019 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus. Narthana club had two troupes that performed energetic dances dedicated to the life and glory of the Lord.

SPICMACAY (Society for Promotion of Culture Among Youth), student chapter celebrated Sree Krishna Janmashtami on 26th & 27th August 2019 in the campus.

Pot painting competition was held on 26th August 2019 as a part of the celebrations near the reception lounge from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The event saw an appreciable turnout of 58 participants. The winning pots were chosen to be part of the pot breaking event.

Vedanta, the spiritual club, organized the Sree Krishna Janmashtami Pooja at 10.00 AM on 27th August 2019. The Pooja was conducted by Dr. Sarada Jayan (Dept. of Mathematics), following which the crowd delved in a mesmerizing rendition of bhajans and spiritual hymns. Mr. Arjun Bharadwaj (Amrita Darshanam Dept.), played a mellifluous tune on the flute to add fervour to the occasion. The event ended with the distribution of prasadam.

The Pooja was followed by cultural programmes held in the Sudhamani hall in the evening, by Raaga, the music club and Narthana, the dance club. The first performance was by Aman Surya (S5-ECE), who presented a melodious classical vocal number, following which the “Immortals” band gave a modern twist to an evergreen song on Lord Krishna. Narthana club had two troupes that performed energetic dances dedicated to the life and glory of the Lord. Later “Tug of war” and “Pot breaking” were conducted by Chethana, the sports club in the boy’s hostel ground. The “Tug of war”, for the boys, was won by the ECE department, and among the girls, the second-year students won.
