Bio

Dr. Umamaheswara Sharma B is working as an Assistant Professor at the School of Computing at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus. He received his Master’s Degree from the University of Hyderabad, India, in the year 2014 in the stream of Artificial Intelligence. He then finished his PhD in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, India. He obtained his PhD on the thesis titled Effectiveness of Machine Learning Models in Detecting Software Defects: An Investigative Insights.  Prior to joining NIT Warangal, he worked as a research assistant for the project Optical Character Recognition for Telugu, at the University of Hyderabad. His research interests include Mining Software Repositories, Software Defect Prediction, Software Reliability, Machine Learning Applications in Software Engineering, And Feasibility of Machine Learning Models.

Research Area

Research focus on soil behaviour with special attention on granular soils. The soil behaviour is explored using Experimental studies, Constitutive modelling, Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) and Rheological Modelling.
