Amrita School of Ayurveda will conduct a one-day Continuing medical education (CME), Amrita Sambhashanam on Cancer Care on February 4, 2020.
World Cancer day organised by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is an international day observed on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally and is responsible for an estimated 9.6 million deaths in 2018.
World Cancer Day aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer, and pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action against the disease. Early detection of cancer can effectively reduce the mortality associated with cancer. 2020 marks the midway point of the 3 year “I am and I will” campaign which seeks to counter the negative attitude and fatalistic belief that nothing can be done about cancer and instead promotes how our personal actions – big or small can bring a positive and lasting change. As a part of this Amrita School of Ayurveda is conducting a One day CME, Amrita Sambhashanam on Cancer care , merging both Ayurveda and modern aspects.
