VALUE, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT) is conducting a workshop for the teaching community including professors, HODs and principals on December 22, 2014.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Amma has said that villages are India's foundation - its life-force-and that it is society's responsibility to take care of them. M.A Math launched the adoption of 101 villages, throughout India, with the aim of helping them become self-reliant and thriving.
CREATE @ Amrita conducted a training programme for secondary science teachers on the significance of Online Labs at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar on 21 January 2013. 17 science teachers from the nearby schools of Bhubaneswar attended the programme. Prof Raghu Raman, Rathnam Arun and K.S. Sudheer represented CREATE at the event.
“Through Online Labs, one can perform practical experiments without even going to the real lab. This is really useful and performing the experiments on tablet was really superb,” stated Imran Basha. N, class 11, Govt Higher Secondary School, Kuniyamuthur, after attending the Online Labs workshop held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam, Ettimadai Campus on 11 January 2013.
A hands-on workshop for the Online Labs project was held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam, Mysore Campus on the 12th December 2012. The workshop was part of a two-day national conference on ‘Universalisation of Secondary Education: Prospects and Challenges‘that was held at the same campus on 11th & 12th December 2012.
The INSPIRE SCIENCE CAMP 2012 for students of classes XI & XII was conducted from 18 - 22 May, 2012 by the Center for Research in Advanced Technologies for Education (CREATE @ Amrita), and hosted for the first time at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus, Amritapuri. The camp was sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt of India. Students who were toppers in science subjects were given the opportunity
IEEE International Conference on Technology Enhanced Education (ICTEE 2012), held at the Amritapuri, Kerala, India, from January 3-5, 2012. ICTEE 2012 mission is to provide an effective and established international forum for discussion and dissemination of recent advances and innovations in use of technology in education at both higher education and K-12 levels.
This workshop was supported by The Virtual Labs project sponsored by the National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT), Ministry of HRD. Virtual Labs project envisions making available computer simulated experiments to all engineering students in India via the internet. A student can access the labs from a computer terminal at his college that has a broadband internet connection. No additional infrastructural setup is required.
