Ganesh Narayanan is an Instrumentation Engineer from Mumbai University with primary expertise in Design, Engineering, Testing & Commissioning of Distributed Control systems (DCS), SCADA for Process Automation.

Currently he is  working as a key member of the Inno-Indigo Stabiliz-e Project involving four other partners across India and Europe, where his work primarily focusses on devising an automation infrastructure in sync with the latest Information and Communication Systems for Power monitoring and control of Distribution Power Networks. His focus is mainly on micro and small, smart power grids for remote and cost dependent regions while exploring the possibilities of integrating Distributed Energy Resources, implement intelligent monitoring and control systems to analyse electrical faults and subsequently decide possibilities of Power network Reconfiguration in real-time to minimize outage times.

    Primary role involved design, testing, installation and commissioning of Emerson’s DeltaV DCS for various process industry companies in the sectors of Oil & Gas, Pharma, Chemicals & catalysts, Paints. Executed DCS projects for HPCL, SALPG, Watson Pharma, BASF, Akzo Nobel, Johnson Matthey Chemicals. Was a key member of Emerson India’s first Petrochemical DeltaV DCS installation in India involving supply and installation of PLC, UPS, and CCTV sub-systems.

    Major Responsibilities included:

    1. Liaising with client, consultants, contractors, third party item vendors for commissioning activities and ensure that all strategies are developed & implemented in accordance to specification.
    2. Developing and implementing software schemes for Plant Operation and control.
    3. Commissioning and Validation of Batch Control systems as per ISA S88.01 standards for Pharmaceutical Installations.
    4. Support to Pre-sales, proposals and Execution for expansion & up-gradation of installed base during the latter half of tenure with a number of Projects involving the challenge of carrying out execution in live conditions without system shutdown.
