Joy and exuberance, vibrant music, a creative outburst of talent everywhere you look – all this coupled with an atmosphere invigorated with excitement – these are some of the indicators that it is that time of the year once again the School of Biotechnology’s Amrita Kalotsavam . This two-day annual arts fest sets a platform that enables the students to showcase their abundant talents outside the arena of the classroom. This years events included a melee of on and off-stage events such as various styles of dance and music, acting, poetry recitation essay, story, and poetry writing in various languages, drawing, painting plus much, much more, was enjoyed by the participants over the next two days.
The off-stage events started three days before Kalotsavam even began. Students lined up outside the third floor classrooms in between classes to squeeze in a quick Hindi essay submission or a cartoon competition entry. Even before the off-stage events took place, the students, were eagerly practicing for the various dances and songs to be presented on D-Day- the 25th and 26th of April 2014. This year, the third year B.Sc. batch bagged the first place at Amrita Kalotsavam with their riveting performances and exemplary off-stage submissions. Some of the noteworthy performers include Minu Shyam, Jayalakshmi Jayakumar, Ashwin Perumal and Ariya Ajay.
The healthy competition that envelops this colourful event actually brings us all together in a unified fashion to help put our best foot forward in a spirit of fun and joy.
