Dr. Sethuraman Srinivas (Sethu) has 25+ years of experience in the information technology industry with a current focus on cybersecurity domain. He specializes in IT technical program management, and is currently a global program manager at IBM managed security services (MSS), where he manages cybersecurity programs in the area of cybersecurity governance, security analytics, big data, intrusion detection and prevention systems, risks and security metrics. He has 7+ years of senior managerial experience in cybersecurity systems.
Sethu was earlier a managing consultant with IBM’s global business services in their supply chain practice, with focus on Oracle retail suite of products. Sethu has served many multinational clients in the SFO Bay area, including Google, Gap stores, American president lines (APL) and Ross stores. He was an early implementer of predictive analytic solutions in field of retail IT. Sethu started his IT career in Wipro’s R&D and was a software developer for 10 years. Other roles held by Sethu were configuration manager, software development manager and advisory IT architect.
Sethu holds a Ph.D., in information technology, with specialization in information assurance (cybersecurity), from Capella University, USA. Sethu has a master’s in computer application from Madurai Kamaraj University, and a bachelor’s in applied sciences from College of engineering (CEG), Chennai. Sethu has published cybersecurity academic papers in peer-reviewed journals (IEEE and ACM), and his research interests are in the area of security analytics, cybersecurity GRC, privacy databases, risk frameworks.
