Members of the Amrita Sanjeevani, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus celebrated this year’s Diwali at Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi’s, home for orphaned children at Parippally, renewing bonds with the residents of the orphanage. The children at the orphanage welcomed the Amrita Sanjeevani members with a captivating display of gracious folk dances, traditional Kerala chendai melam, performed by teachers and senior students, and other cultural events. The kids exhibited their artistic, creative talents with these performances. Amrita Sanjeevani members also added a festive spirit to the day by performing solo songs, group dance and skits. The children were gifted with clothes, books, cricket kits, carom boards and and other fun things. Amrita Sanjeevani had open-heartedly worked hard to design a day that would remain in the memories of everyone present. The members ensured that the day was festive with the children given firecrackers to celebrate the festival of lights, and a sumptuous Diwali dinner.

A part of Amrita SeRVe, Amma’s village rehabilitation project, the internships were also Amma’s idea. She described the project as a way for young people to help villagers find solutions to their problems and for the young people to gain understanding of the challenges faced by their fellow countrymen and women, as well as their strong values and resilience.  Students and staff from many departments participated, including the Schools of Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical and Computer Engineering), Business, Social Work, Physical Education and English, as well as CIR and CREATE.

Placements

The Directorate of Corporate & Industry Relations (CIR) strives to achieve excellent placement of students each year. A proven track record of consistent high quality placements year-on-year is one of the reasons for many bright students opting for admissions in Amrita.

Placements are handled by a group of experts with Head-Placement for MBAs at the top, along with support from Placement Managers positioned at various campuses of Amrita School of Business at Coimbatore and Departments of Management Studies at Amritapuri, Bangalore and Kochi.

Some of the key aspects that are taken into account by the placement team are given as follows:

  • Ensuring summer placements and final placements of students from all branches of Management in reputed organisations.
  • Improving the quality of placements in terms of job opportunities, companies of relevance that visit the campus and the highest and average salaries.
  • Ensuring maximum visibility of the institution to the corporate world through frequent visits, interactions with the top management and facilitation of Faculty Development Programmes, Student Visits, Training and Project Guidance under Corporate Action Plan.
