The 71st Independence of India was celebrated at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on August 15, 2017.
The Coimbatore campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and the Amrita School of Ayurveda, celebrated the event by hoisting the national flag followed by the celebrations.
The Amritapuri campus celebrated the day by conducting an Independence Day special clean-up drive near the campus. The celebrations of Independence day continued at the AYUDHian tradition of Bharat Mata Puja celebrated and the student team with AYUDH colored the events with emotions of awe, happiness and success. Senior ISRO Scientist Shri. Nambi Narayanan was honored in the event where he was also the chief guest.
“On the 15th of August, we once again reminisced our forgotten heroes and roared along with their echo’s “Vande Mataram”. With our eyes set on Her rising tricolour flag that fills our hearts with deep bonded love, we sang ‘Jana Gana Mana…’. We shared this love with sweets and listened to the many stories of sacrifices that gave us this moment of freedom. We rejoiced in the bliss of unity of being Indian. An evening with the immortal heroes of our land, to feel the valour in their stories of sacrifices and victory”, said the students who attended the Puja.
