As a part of the National Science Day – 2015, Department of Chemistry, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, in association with Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD), Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India organized a seminar and exhibition related to mineral exploration, nuclear energy applications, future power programs from February 26 – 27, 2015.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. K. Bala Chandran, Scientific Officer, Department of Atomic Energy, and presided over by Dr. C. Gopinathan Pillai (Principal, ASAS), Dr. M. Viswanathan (HOD and Chairman, Department of Chemistry),- Dr. K. Sankaran (Principal , ASE), Dr. V. M. Nanda Kumaran (HOD, Department of Physics) and Dr. Zeena. S. Pillai (Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry) spoke on the occasion. The technical sessions include talks by Dr. M. N. Babu, Mr. Mohammed Alam, Mr. T. S. Shaji, Dr. Pradeep Kumar and Mr. G. Sundar, Scientific officers, Department of Atomic Energy Govt. of India.
