Grid voltage is normally subjected to various disturbances such as voltage sag, voltage swell, harmonic distortions etc. These Power Quality issues impact the operation of critical and sensitive loads in the power system. These loads are becoming increasingly sensitive to network disturbances which results in costly shutdowns and production losses that have an impact on productivity and corporate revenues. It also leads to Increased electricity costs, overloading, and rapid ageing of the electrical infrastructure. This project investigates the power quality issues introduced by renewable resources, electric vehicles, critical, and dynamic loads. Suggestion of suitable mitigation techniques, its design, development and testing are also included in the project.
