Semiconductor Devices : Diode – Zener circuits – BJT : simple biasing methods – MOSFET – DC Power supply – FlipFlops- Counters – Adders – OPAMP based circuits including Schmitt trigger and astablemultivibrator – Feedback amplifiers – Oscillators – Boolean logic – basic gates – truth tables – logic minimization using K maps – combinatorial and sequential circuits – DAC and ADC – Introduction to Communication Engineering.

Objectives and Outcomes

Course Objectives

The course will lay down the basic concepts and techniques of electronics needed for advanced topics in AI. It will explore the concepts initially through computational/hardware experiments and then try to understand the concepts/theory behind it. It will help the students to perceive the engineering problems using the fundamental concepts in electronics.

Course Outcomes

CO1 To introduce the basic concepts of analog and digital electronics.
CO2 To enable the students to understand the application of electronics in communication engineering.
CO3 To enable the students to model engineering problems in the perspective of electronics.

Internal – 75%

  • Assignments – 50% (20 assignments with equal credit)
  • Quiz- 25% (5 Quizzes with equal credit)

External – 25%

  • Project – 25%
