Summary of the event:
The department of computer science hosted in co-ordination with CSI hosted a webinar on “Importance of Programming Paradigms” on 21/12/2020 from 10.00am to 11.30am for all BCA and Integrated MCA first semester students. The resource person was Mr. Vipin Pavithran, Assistant professor, center for cyber security, Amritapuri campus. The webinar witnessed a healthy participation of 170 plus students attending it across from various courses. The resource person emphasized on communication skills, managerial skills, applications of computers in various fields which led to the core understanding of why coding is important? Where are we heading towards in future? This webinar made the students to think and to be serious in learning programming languages and the session concluded with question and answers session.
Sir gave several real time examples where programming is used such as Agriculture, Sports, Business and so on. He also shared several website links, which can be used to improve the coding skill. Session ended with questions-answers.

Outcome: Students learned about the cyber security and how to prevents digital gadgets from the cyber-attacks.
