Dr. Mafruza Sultana has 17 years of Academic and Administrative experience. She has worked as a faculty in Economics Area in different colleges and Universities for 11 years. Prior to joining BIM, she worked as an Assistant Professor in the area of Finance and Economics at Jagdish Sheth School of Management, Bangalore.

Her doctoral thesis is “A socio-economic analysis of clay model industry of Krishnanagar, West Bengal”. Her research interests include social economics, women empowerment, and developmental and financial economics. She has many publications to her credit, having presented at many national and international conferences. She also writes articles on contemporary issues in business magazines.

Dr. Mafruza is passionate about studying the issues of the present time, such as urbanization, technological change, economic empowerment, sustainability, migration, and globalization; and explores creating collaborative change by translating economic growth into broad-based improvements in urban and rural living standards. She received the best paper award for the paper titled “Does the Covid-19 protocol enhance customer satisfaction in the hotel industry? Evidence from India” at The Regional Conference on Marketing and International Business (RCMIB 2021), Bangladesh on August 20, 2021, & a paper titled, “Work life balance of Women Professionals: Impact and Implications” at BAASANA interdisciplinary conference held at Adelphi University, New York, USA, and second best case award for the case titled “Exit of Harley Davidson from India at National Conference on Management Cases (NCMC), KIAMS, Pune on April 22, 2022. She also holds a lifetime membership (WB-323) of the Indian Economic Association.
